Rahu & Ketu
According to Vedic astrology, Rahu and Ketu are the shadowy planets with no physical body. When the Celestial Oceans were churned (Samudra Manthan), due to the mischief of "Swarbhanu" a banished demon, Lord Vishnu got angry and hence dismembered the demon into two. The Head part became 'Rahu' and the remaining body with no sensory perception became 'Ketu'. They both are always in retrograde motion all the while being diametrically opposed to each other.
Astrologically, Rahu & Ketu are known to be the north and south node of the moon. Since Moon is the significator of mind, therefore, in human lives Rahu represents the mischievous part of the mind that takes a man towards obsession for materialism while Ketu represents the part which leads to renunciation hence uplifting man towards spiritual liberation beyond the drama of the five senses.
